Company Audition Requirements

Company auditions are right around the corner! Be sure to check out our requirement list for both Intermediate (0-2 years competition experience) and Advanced (3+ years competition experience) companies!

Auditions will be held Saturday, June 14th from 9am-1pm and Sunday, June 15th from 9am-3:30pm. Both days are required.

LEVEL I & II (Kindergarten & 1st-2nd Grade)

Audition requirements to be completed in class. See instructor for more information.

LEVEL III  (3rd-5th Grade)

Auditions for Level III: Saturday June 14th, 9am-11am & Sunday, June 15th, 9am-12pm

Level III Intermediate Company Requirements:
Level III Students auditioning for the Intermediate level must be able to complete:

•         Clean single pirouette R or L
•         Develope extensions R or L and hold (e.g.  tilt, front, side, or arabesque back position with or without hand)
•         Soute De Chat R or L
•         Correct 1st arabesque position R&L
•         Shoulder rolls
•         Multiple travelling turning combinations (chainé, piqué, soutenu, lame ducks)
•         Multiple leaping combination clean transitions
•         Multiple consecutive jumps (e.g. Changement, Echappé, Ring Leaps, Toe touches, Scissonés, etc.)
•         Calypso from Chainé turns R or L
•         Correct layback placement (with and without kick)
•         Clean transitions and landings

Level III Students auditioning for the Intermediate level must be able to understand:

•         Level changing choreography
•         The ability to interpret musicality
•         Moving with group correctly and seamlessly
•         Spatial Awareness
•         Basic knowledge of proper Ballet technique

BONUS POINTS:

·        Chin Stands
·        Reverse Flowers/Over-the-head flowers
·        Walk overs
·        Handstands

Level III Advanced Company Requirements:
Level III Students auditioning for the Advanced level must be able to complete:

•         Clean single and double pirouette R or L
•         (at least) 2 Á La Seconde turns into single pirouette with correct landing
•         Develope extensions R&L and hold (e.g.  tilt, front, side, penchée or arabesque back position with or without hand)
•         Soute de Chat R and L
•         Correct 1st arabesque position R&L
•         Shoulder split rolls
•         Multiple stationary turning combinations with foot/leg position and arms
•         Multiple travelling turning combination (chainé, piqué, soutenu, lame ducks) with changing arms and directions
•         Multiple leaping combination with changing direction and leg placement with clean transitions
•         Multiple consecutive jumps (e.g. Changement, Ring Leaps, Toe touches, Scissonés, etc.)
•         Italian Fouettes
•         Switch Leap or Switch Scissoné R or L (R preferable)
•         Correct layback placement (with and without kick)
•         Clean transitions and landings

Level III Students auditioning for the Advanced level must be able to understand:

•         Level changing choreography
•         The ability to interpret musicality
•         Body fluidity with choreography
•         Moving with group correctly and seamlessly
•         Spatial Awareness

JUNIOR (6th-8th Grade)

Auditions for Junior: Saturday June 14th, 11am-1pm & Sunday, June 15th,12:30pm-3:30pm

Junior Intermediate Company Requirements:
Juniors auditioning for the Intermediate level must be able to complete:

• Clean single pirouette R&L
• Develope extensions R or L and hold (e.g.  tilt, front, side, or arabesque back position with or without hand)
• Soute De Chat R or L
• Correct 1st arabesque position R&L
• Shoulder rolls
• Multiple travelling turning combinations (chainé, piqué, soutenu, lame ducks) with changing arms

•         Multiple stationary turning combinations with foot/leg position, arms, and speed
•         Multiple leaping combination with changing direction and leg placement with clean transitions
•         Multiple consecutive jumps (e.g. Changement, Entrechat Quatre, Ring Leaps, Toe touches, Scissonés, etc.)
•         Italian Fouettes
•         Switch Leap or Switch Scissoné R or L (R preferable)

•         Clean transitions and landings

•         Multiple leaping combination changing direction with clean transitions
•         Multiple consecutive jumps (e.g. Changement, Entrechat Quatre, Entrechat Six, Ring Leaps, Toe touches, Scissonés, etc.)
•         Calypso from Chainé turns R&L
•         Correct layback placement (with and without kick)
•         Clean transitions and landings

Seniors auditioning for the Intermediate level must be able to understand:

Seniors auditioning for the Advanced level must be able to complete:

• (at least) 8 Á La Seconde turns into double pirouette with correct landing
• Develope extensions R&L and hold (e.g.  tilt, front, side, penchée or arabesque back position with or without hand)
• Side leaps R or L
• Switch Leaps R or L
• Correct 1st arabesque position R&L
• Shoulder split rolls
• Ciseaux with and without Battu
• Grand Cabriole Fouettée
• Multiple stationary turning combinations with changing spot, foot/leg position, arms, and speed
• Multiple leaping combination with changing direction and leg placement with clean transitions
• Multiple consecutive jumps (e.g. Changement, Entrechat Quatre, Entrechat Six, Ring Leaps, Toe touches, Scissonés, etc.)
• Pop-outs from Chainé turns R (tilt or toe touch acceptable)
• Switch Scissoné R or L (R preferable)
• Correct layback placement (with and without kick)
• Clean transitions and landings

Seniors audition for the Advanced level must be able to understand:

• Level changing choreography
• The ability to interpret musicality
• Body fluidity with choreography
• Moving with group correctly and seamlessly
